Lindsay Aitken

Lindsay has lived in the Gracemount area since 2005, and frequented The Mansion and walled garden on many occasions over the years. Her children have lots of memories of attending clubs with the school and their visits to the walled garden.

"I was shocked when the mansion closed in 2018 and deeply saddened to witness the dilapidation of the buildings over the years, and the increased vandalism within the mansion site and surrounding areas since closure. Sadly, there has been a significant lack of investment in the South of Edinburgh and the community deserve and need more. I strongly believe the reopening of The Mansion site as a community hub will make the area a nicer place to live, bringing about a sense of pride and ownership within the community."

Lindsay has had a career within Financial Services for over 25 years. And during 2020, founded the community group, Friends of the Mansion, to raise awareness of the Gracemount Mansion Project and in November 2022 established GMDT as a Charity.
